More Goals = More Excitement = More attendance = More adverts, etc

One of the reported changes to NHL hockey that caught my attention is the reduction in size of goalee equipment. It is hoped that this reduction will result in more goals and therefore more exciting games. From time to time a similar initiative is proposed for soccer.

Is the argument correct? Would more goals result in more exciting games?

  • They say that size doesn't matter. You could probably make any sort of change and ice hockey would be more exciting; however, they would have to actually play.
