Points of Contention: To Refrigerate or Not

Items I have refrigerated but other people think should not and items other people have refrigerated that I thought didn't belong in a refrigerator:

Unopened Mayonaise
Peanut Butter (opened or unopened)
Bananas
Newman's Own Olive Oil and Vinegar salad dressing
Cookies
Unopened white wine
Opened red wine

my mother MUST refrigerate her opened peanut butter. i don't know why.

my wife insists that bread in the fridge stays longer.

once, we bought a bunch of milk that was on sale and put it in the freezer.

we put our coffee in the freezer. this mystifies todd. it is an old habit i picked up from my mother who swears that this keeps it fresh.

Refrigerated homemade cookies taste dry and disgusting.

Bread lasts longer but doesn't taste as good.
